Park(ing) Day
Do You Like Parks?
Would you like more parks in your neighborhood?
Join Feet First, Seattle Great City Initiative and others for PARK(ing) Day!
Help imagine and build a greener, more livable city by being a part of PARK(ing) Day on September 19th 2008.
PARK(ing) day is motivated by the realization that a metered parking space is a short-term lease of public land, and doesn't necessarily need to be used for storage of a personal vehicle.
Instead, on PARK(ing) Day, parking spaces all over the world are transformed by organizations and neighbors into temporary public parks. Last year over 200 parks were created in fifty cities around the world, including Seattle.
