After decades of ever increasing automobile use, we now squarely confront the consequences of our past choices, and the promise of an entirely different approach.

The Goal of Streets for People was to build a broad based public campaign to transition our streets away from an auto-centric approach to one that treats streets as public places, and prioritizes them for walking, biking and transit.

Together with our partners the Sierra Club Cascade Chapter, Cascade Bicycle Club and Feet First, in 2010 we launched just such a campaign with specific policy targets we believe will enable us to become the most walkable, bikeable and transit-friendly city in America.  Now we just need to step up and do it.
