Tracy Carroll
Co-founder of Flexcar
As NetGreen’s Executive Director, a cofounder of Flexcar, and in his many other eco-entrepreneurial ventures, Tracy has passionately strived to help our society reach a more balanced state of being – sustainability. Since 1995 Tracy’s core goal has been to reduce the buildup of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) pollution and create a non-divisive movement that empowers us to step up now, face this moral and social imperative, and, in doing so, deeply stimulate a shift to a less fossil fuel dependent, more socially equitable economy.
As a cofounder of Flexcar, the oldest and largest car sharing company in North America, Tracy applied his innovation and focus on customer experience to initiate and help create a successful model for car sharing in the United States, filling an essential gap in the mobility services available, while providing a significant opportunity to reduce our GHG impact.
Over the years, Tracy has sold energy efficient heating/cooling & lighting systems, and has volunteered for many efforts, most notable of which is his active leadership of the Queen Anne Community Council in planting nearly 1000 trees in Seattle.
Now as the Executive Director of NetGreen (www.AchieveNetGreen.com), a 501(c)(3) non-profit enterprise, he is leading NetGreen to do significant outreach to businesses, communities, and individuals - helping them realize the benefits of becoming carbon neutral today by contributing funds toward high quality carbon offset projects such as those implemented by the preeminent non profit organization in the country who is doing such work, The Climate Trust (www.climatetrust.org). NetGreen, The Climate Trust, the EPA Energy Star Program, Seattle City Light’s GreenUp and EnergySmart programs, and many others are all working toward the effort to effectively stabilize our rapidly changing climate.
