Darryl hails from Englewood N.J., and arrived in Seattle in '91 to work in the professional theatre. After appearring in shows with Seattle Rep, Seattle Childrens Theatre, and A Contemporary Theatre he received his real estate license in '95.
Darryl currently serves as a member of the Bridging the Gap Levy Oversight committee, and on the Executive committee of the Seattle Great City Initiative. Previously, he served as chair of the Columbia City Revitalization Committee, chair of the Citizens Transit Advisory Council, and as president of the Rainier Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on Seattle's Planning Commission and on Mayor Nickels' Economic Opportunity Task Force committee.
In addition he has over a decade in the real estate profession as Realtor focusing on dense urban housing, and first time purchasers. He was recognized in 2005 with the Seattle King County Association Realtors Community Service Award.
Darryl is keenly interested in helping to enliven neighborhoods, and making housing choice available to all Seattleites. His wife, Andrea Smith, is the chief fund development officer for Impact Capitol. Darryl and Andrea have a ten year old daughter Sofia, and live in the Columbia City neighborhood.
